The money has to come from somewhere. So why not the rich? “We are not going to have a one-sided deal that hurts folks that are most vulnerable,” he says. Let’s see what he says in six months.
The faster this goes away, the better for Obama.
But if people really want to criticize a president making poor decisions about handing gobs of money private companies, how about taking a look at the very recent past with Dubya and Halliburton. I mean just for starters. Let’s compare: $500m to a company dedicated to weening us off our Petroleum dependance compared to the billions given to a company dedicated to fighting a war that is almost completely dependent on our addiction oil and paranoia. (I’ve seen $17.4b in just war profiteering.)
Also, lol at anyone trying to make this into the “Obama Watergate.” This is just laughable. It’s a scandal, that’s for sure, but it isn’t election tampering. I think, over time, we have lost the true meaning of “Watergate.” It isn’t an all purpose word for “political scandal.”
Obama waives sanctions on Iceland whaling
Obama decided not to impose trade sanctions against Iceland, despite saying that whaling was undermining international efforts to preserve the animals.
